None of this could have been achieved without our lovely builders:

Tuesday, 28 October 2008

Lots of little fiddly jobs have been done today. Mark has made a start on the cupboard which will hide the electric meter and fuse box. A new door frame was fitted on the toilet, the lounge and kitchen door frames were removed ready for when new timber arrives.

Mike has been busy plastering today, trying to correct several abominations created by the previous owner. The recess is the last remaining evidence of one of the many cupboards the previous owner built that adorned the house in various places. We decided to keep this one (much reduced in size) as a point of interest and conversation piece. A light will be installed and we'll probably have a vase or something similar there.

For one night only - The Captain's Table II - invited VIPs only!
The lounge was converted into a restaurant tonight, Mike was cooking for Mark's family who are staying nearby during the school holiday.
