So, the army continued with the construction of the roof of the sun room today. Old poly roof was removed and timbers fixed for the new slate roof:
In order to avoid a trip to A & E, Sid decided it was not a good idea to run and hide when this photo was taken.
The kitchen extension roof was also removed (the original pitch was too shallow) and this will allow the new sun room roof to follow in one smooth line across the kitchen as well.
It was decided to remove the side kitchen wall and door that led into the sun room to open up this space to create unrestricted access from the kitchen, through the sun room to the back of the lounge. As this is something that hadn't been planned we've taken advice from Mark and the boys and they will create a vaulted ceiling in the kitchen extension with Velux window to match the sun room.
Looking into the kitchen extension now the side wall and door have been removed.
Taken from the kitchen looking into the sun room with new roof timbers in place.
Fred continued painting the outside but is getting frustrated at the amount of paint the roughcast seems to be drinking in.
The electricians were also here today and continued with the wiring and installed a new fuse box.
HALLELUJAH Wickes appear to have got their act together at last. After 19 days the tiles have at last been delivered correctly.
