Well, we've had the phone call to say completion has taken place and to collect the keys. Shame Paul isn't here, he's in hospital for chemo today, so I get the honour of getting the keys and being the first one into our new home. It's not so much fun on my own but Paul will be back tomorrow.

So, what's it like? Mucky!

This is the utility room and it's a lot cleaner than the kitchen!

What's the first thing to do? Get the dustpan and brush and sweep the worktops and windowsills clean of the dead flies then get the broom and sweep the floor. It's amazing how much better it looks just doing that but it took a couple of hours!

I did a bit of weeding in the garden this afternoon and the grandchildren came round for a look-see whilst Daddy was changing the locks. Daniel had Sally (a very excitable young labradoodle) on the lead. "Nanny, Sally's in next door's fishpond". She'd decided to jump the wall and next door's garden is lower than ours. Had to admit she looked funny and a bit shocked, just hope neighbour John didn't see it and that it didn't scare the goldfish too much! Daddy got Sally back and she was taken home with her tail between her legs.

Collected the weeds and decided that was enough for today.
